Now it is time to create your questions and answers. Since we have sixteen boxes on the page we need sixteen question pages and sixteen answer pages. To create the new pages clone and clear contents of the number of pages you need. To make it easier to remember what page belongs to each question rename each page. Use something that is easy to understand example: 1 100 Q = Column 1 point 100 Question, 2 200 A = Column 2 point 200 Answer and so on.
Click the column of blocks and ungroup. Then click and drag over an individual block and number and group those as one. Click on the new group and chose the drop down box. Click on Link... to open up the link box.
Remember to chose what page lines up with your object. Pick Page in this File to link to a page within your Smart Notebook file. Choose the page that matches your question. Then under Launch by clicking chose Object. Press okay.
Now when you click on the object it will take you to the question page. On this blank page add your question. You can type it in there as a text object, make it an image object, a video object a flash object or even a link outside of Smart Notebook. We will make this an image.
Make this object link to its answer page and fill in the answer. Link your answer object back to the game board.
This is where it gets time consuming. You need to repeat this process with each question and answer until the entire game board is filled. Remember to save the file often so you don't lose your work.
With the game board finished you can now add some advanced options. At the bottom of the game board add a link to a final Jeopardy question. Link that question to a Final Jeopardy page. Type in your question then add a Flash timer to it from the gallery. Then put your answer on a an answer page and link it to the question as before.
The timer gives students enough time to answer the question. It can be set to make a sound when it ends and also be set to start as soon as the page opens.
Another advanced item you can add is a scoreboard to the main page. This can be done using tables and and infinite cloning.
Create a table and realign the cells so they are smaller and fit the numbers. Clone the table and place it on the other side of the screen. Do this as many times as you have teams. In the middle or on the side, wherever you have space, make a rectangle shape and fill it with white. Using the Text box fill in numbers 1-9 and 0 making each a different object. Infinite clone the each number. Give each scoreboard a title: Team 1 and so on. Whenever a team scores drag over the number into their table to give the score. Using Infinite Cloner allows you to add numbers over and over again without losing the numbers from their box.
This is your notebook activity. Take the basic options given to you here and run with it. Make it your own and have fun creating it. Trail and error will help you to make the kind of Smart Presentations you want.
